The best way to overcome fear of failure
Read time: 4 minutes
Are you afraid to fail?
Who am I kidding?
We all are at some level.
From the tribal days of humanity failing could mean exile.
Being wrong, weak, or making mistakes could lead to you not surviving…
…or at the very least not belonging or being worthy of surviving.
It’s a deeply primal fear that everyone gets the opportunity to overcome.
In my personal studies over the last few weeks this topic has come up a lot.
Today I’ll be sharing some personal reflections with you…
…as we both learn to navigate and disintegrate this fear of failure.
As I studied I heard a powerful idea:
The way to overcome the fear of failure is to have a goal worth failing for.
After all when our goal - or as I would call it vision - is powerful enough, we’d be more than willing to ‘fail’ in pursuit of it.
It’s bigger than us.
And it’s worth sacrificing our ego, identity, and energy for…
…even if we fail.
But then again what even is failure?
I don’t believe you can fail at something unless you quit.
Failure is simply feedback.
It let’s us know when it’s time to evolve…
…whether that be ourselves, our skills, or our strategy.

There is no such thing as failure. There are only results.
— Tony Robbins

Sometimes those results are what we want, and other times what we don’t want.
Either way there is an outcome and we choose what to do with that information.
When we decide we simply won’t quit, failure is a stepping stone.
A necessary piece of progression.
What if you knew you were only 1,000 failures away from everything you’ve ever wanted?
How eager would you be to fail?
You couldn’t wait to fail.
Would you be afraid?
Probably not.
In reality that is the truth.
With faith, action, and a refusal to quit…
…in other words persistence…
….most people will man handle life into giving them what they want sooner or later.
And that's not all.
I have great news.
You are going to die.
No if's, and's, or but's about it.
One day you won't be playing this game anymore.
So what do you really have to lose anyways?
What is there to fear?
Failure isn't real so long as quitting isn't an option.
It's progress.
It's learning.
It's becoming.
It's necessary.
Go fail so often that you can't help but win.
I'm rooting for you.
✅ Win of The Week: Out of my comfort zone
I have to practice what I preach, otherwise why would you listen to me?
I've spoken or written about the importance of our environment.
How it dictates our standards and therefore has a lot to do with the quality of results we get.
How the people we surround ourselves with we will become... monkey see monkey do style.
So I decided it was time to upgrade my gym.
It's been very fun, although I won't lie I was nervous my first time going.
Already I am seeing my body transform and I love being pushed.
❌ Challenge of The Week: The in-between
I've been in a limbo of sorts.
Not quite where I was and not quite where I want to be.
No longer who I was and not fully who I want to be.
Things aren't as bad as they've been in the past but they aren't as good as I know they could be in the present.
I'm not going backwards, but I'm not going forwards at the speed I'd like.
Learning to trust the process and stay out of my own way as things inevitably unfold.
What I Am Working On & Learning
Business: New resources on the way
I’ve been brainstorming and creating some really incredible stuff.
1) A 2-part meditation series called ‘The Money Magnet Meditation Pack’.
2) New manifestation guide called ‘The $91,344 Month Manifestation Map’.
3) Full step-by-step mini-course called ‘The Quantum Jump Starter Kit.’
And the best part?
I’ll be giving them away for free.
I’m currently upgrading my entire ‘client getting process’ and part of that is one key strategy:
Give away for free what others would expect to pay money for.
In other words, make my free stuff better than other peoples paid stuff…
…and use them as a magnet to attract my ideal clients with ease.
Exciting stuff!
Note to self: Done is better than perfect. I can always improve them once they are finished.
Money: We get what we expect
I heard a powerful quote today.
“
Don't desire what you don't expect, and don't expect what you don't desire.
Often - especially with money, we desire it but don't expect it.
And when times are tough we expect what we don't desire - money problems.
In the past when I expect money...
...you guessed it...
...I get it.
So simple but easy to forget.
Note to self: Expectation is a pre-requisite to more money.
Life: It's the little things
I am working on appreciating life as it currently is...
...as I pursue how I would more ideally like it to be.
So for today enjoy this cute photo of my dogs from this morning.
Note to self: Whether I want it to or not, life is going to change. What I take for granted today I will not have tomorrow.
Self: No one is coming to save me
It’s easy to fall into a sort of victimhood.
“I trust God and the Universe have my back… so it will all workout.”
That is a good belief to have, but we all forget one thing.
God and the Universe can work THROUGH us but not FOR us.
No magic hand in the sky is going to reach into our lives and solve our problems.
We are the paintbrush, God is the painter, and our life is the canvas.
Note to self: How amazing is it that I get to co-create with the infinite, and be the hero in my story?
As a wise man once said:
“
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
— Jesus (Matthew 7:7)
God opens the door, but you still have to knock…
…and once the door is open, you better walk through it.
Have a great week my friend.
I'll talk to you Saturday on my next letter.
