Ain't nothing to it... gangster rap made me do it

For Your Eyes Only

Straight from my desk to yours.

Hello Reader,

All potential negative influences aside…

…I really love gangster rap.

There is something about the way some gangster rap makes me feel.

Throw on some Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg, 2Pac…

…or even Lil Wayne, Jay Z, and 50 Cent…

…and I feel like a baller.

I start wanting to win at all costs… and stop feeling sorry for myself.

I stop giving a fuck… and start thinking bigger.

The alter-ego effect it creates is real.

Now I don’t idolize the people making the music…

…but I gotta admit some of their songs are highly relatable or at the least motivational.

Put me anywhere on God’s green earth, I’ll triple my worth motherf*cker… I, will not lose.
Jay Z

Recently I made a playlist to capture this feeling…

…and I called it ‘Baller Frequency’.

Because when I listen to it I feel like a baller.

Now my goal today is not to tell you to listen to gangster rap, or to indoctrinate you in my musical taste…

…it’s to illustrate a very important strategy when it comes to manifesting the results you want in your life…

…and it involves energy.

More specifically it involves manipulating a certain universal principle.

“Your results are a reflection of your state of mind.”

I’ve realized that music is one of many methods to trigger the ‘right’ State of Mind.

It could be Beethoven, The Eagles, Mariah Carey, or TOOL…

…each one elicits a different effect on our State of Mind.

And it’s highly personal.

What works for me won’t for you.

And sometimes it isn’t gangster rap for me…

…it could be oldies, medicine music, or alternative rock.

But - the truth is - it works.

My ask of you this week is to create a playlist for yourself…

…one that in my words ‘makes you feel like a baller’.

Unstoppable.

Motivated.

Resilient.

Inspired.

You get the idea.

Music that when listened to snaps you out it…

…and gets you back into the game.

Rooting for you

Christopher
